Help us track
invasive Green Iguanas in Florida
purpose
This website was created to gauge the aggregation of Green Iguanas within Florida simply and efficiently. Through findings from my research paper on invasive Green Iguanas in Florida, it became evident that managing these iguanas could be more effective and cost-efficient with a centralized source for reporting sightings that also contains descriptors on the maturity of the iguana. This is important as Green Iguanas pose a variety of threats to Florida’s ecosystem and neighborhoods. This platform allows users to report and view Green Iguana sightings, helping to pinpoint where these reptiles are most prevalent. The data, which can be filtered by Green Iguana size and location, is valuable for a wide range of people, from researchers to residents, making it easier to identify and address areas with significant Green Iguana presence.
about
I am a high school student who recently completed AP Research. Driven by my passion for technology and my commitment to addressing real-world problems, I sought to find a way to implement the findings of my research paper on invasive Green Iguanas in Florida. My goal is to make a difference within my community. This led to the creation of “The Iguana Impact.” By applying my research, I hope to make a meaningful contribution by raising awareness about this invasive species and ultimately protecting Florida’s native ecosystem and infrastructure.
